Greg Miller
Greg Miller is a General Investigator with the Harrisonburg Police Department, where he began his law enforcement career in 1999. After serving as a patrol officer, bike patrol officer, and seven-year School Resource Officer, he developed a specialized focus on juvenile sex crimes and child exploitation and became affiliated with the Northern Virginia–DC Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force in 2008. Promoted to Criminal Investigations in 2010,
Greg has investigated cases ranging from fraud and robbery to sexual assault and homicide, while maintaining a primary focus on ICAC/child exploitation cases. He has been a member of the department’s Crisis Negotiation Team since 2003 and currently serves as team leader. In 2018, he helped establish and is the team leader for HPD’s Peer Support Team.
Greg has had the opportunity to present at several conferences throughout the United States, including the Crimes Against Children’s Conference in Dallas, TX, the NW Regional ICAC Conference in Seattle, WA, as well as being faculty for the Commonwealth’s Attorneys’ Services Council's Sound of Silence: Investigating and Prosecuting Child Abuse Cases. In May 2024, HPD and Greg were fortunate to get Hudson, a Facility Dog, through Mutts with a Mission (Va Beach, VA).
