John Bamford
John Bamford has been a police officer with Arlington County (VA) Police Department (ACPD) since 2008. He currently investigates cyber crime as a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Washington Field Office Cyber Task Force while also teaching ACPD’s legal courses and is a current member of ACPD’s Emergency Response Team’s Tactical Operations Center. Prior to his current position, he served as a detective in ACPD’s Economic Crimes Unit, as a Field Training Officer, Crime Scene Agent, and was a member of ACPD’s Civil Disturbance Unit. He graduated from George Mason University Law School (now the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University) in 2010. John has both provided trainings and worked cases at the international, federal, state, and local level on topics to include economic crimes, human trafficking, cyber criminal forums, search warrants, search and seizure, court room testimony, and the use of technology in investigations.
